Tradewind Books is a small Canadian children’s book publisher located in Vancouver, BC. They have been publishing books since 1996 with their titles being recognized internationally for their illustrations, writing, and design.[1][2] Children poems and young adult fiction are also published by Tradewind Books.[3] Over the years, their writers have been invited to festivals across Canada and around the world: from Vancouver to Hong Kong, from Ottawa to Sheffield (UK), from Winnipeg to San Francisco and from Calgary to Edinburgh. They have sold rights to publishers far and wide: to the United States, Mexico, Korea, and Portugal. Tradewind Books has direct distribution in Canada, the UK, the United States[4] and Australia.
Tradewind was formed in 1996 by Michael Katz and Carol Frank
They moved to their present offices on Granville Island in 2001.
Tradewind Books was featured in the book “Granville Island” by Karen Johnson[5]
The Publishing House is involved in literature festivals including: Word on the Street,[6] The Vancouver International Children’s Festival,[7] and the Vancouver International Writer’s and Readers Festival.[8]
